Shelter administrators recently assembled a wish list for their residents.
The community fulfilled every wish!
That's great timing - 14 families and nine women needed a place to stay just this month alone.
"Around the holidays, it's very difficult for a lot of families to be in a homeless shelter and to know that they really can't provide much for their kids - and kids don't understand that - they don't understand that 'we can't afford gifts this year'," said Treasure Valley Housing Services Director Stephanie Bloom.
Nampa residents like Jordan Baker said it's great to be able to offer donations around the holidays.
"Living a life of generosity is so important - it's been really meaningful to me and my family - and the Salvation Army has provided us with such a great opportunity this time of year to be generous," Baker said.
The Community Family Shelter serves families and single folks who are experiencing homelessness.
The shelter also has a day resource center for showers, laundry, and meals for those on fixed or limited budgets.
