LOS ANGELES, CA (CelebrityAccess) – Universal’s Decca Records has announced that it has signed Hollywood actor, Jeff Goldblum.

The 65-year-old who is best known for his roles in the Jurassic Park franchise and Independence Day will release his debut album later this year.

In addition to staring in various blockbuster movies, Goldblum is a longtime jazz enthusiast whose own band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra has maintained a presence in the Los Angeles scene since the 1990s.

In a statement announcing the signing, Decca director of A&R Tom Lewis said: “As far as I can tell, everyone loves Jeff Goldblum. He’s a fantastic jazz pianist, a great band leader and just about the loveliest man in the world. His love of jazz is infectious and whenever he plays he makes you feel very happy. If we can take Jeff’s music into people’s homes then we will be helping, in our own small way, to make the world a happier place.”

“I’m so happy to be in cahoots with the wonderful people at Decca, one of the coolest and most prestigious labels of all time,” added Goldblum.

The actor, who will reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in the coming weeks, first began playing piano as a child before moving on to performing in cocktail lounges in Pittsburgh as a teenager.
