He believes that they are not focused on the right things, and should only worry about the game, their families, and then the game after that. After the Lakers’ win against The New York Knicks, during the post-game interview, LeBron was asked about what advice would he give to the young players in the league. To this, he responded by saying they should learn the history of the game, and respect the players who have played before them. Even when they disrespect you, they should also learn what it is like to be a professional basketball player. He said,
The cars, the jewelry, and all the other dumb sh*t don’t matter…I see a lot of these young kids get so unfocused about stuff that is so material. They can lose their focus. Worry about the game and everything will take care of itself.
The oldest player in the league told the young guys to put up the work and have qualities such as punctuality and discipline. The basketball legend says that the Gods of the Game will give back to you if you put in the work. If you want to be one of the greats of the game, you have to pour it all.
