PAYETTE, Idaho — The Idaho Humane Society and Payette Sheriff's Office rescued 18 chihuahuas discovered during a wellness check, and they're hoping for donations to help cover their care.
Their owner had died and volunteers said that left the dogs without food and water for two days.
They also said the dogs were scared because they probably never had any interaction with anyone aside from that owner.
The dogs will be put in foster care after medical and socialization needs are met.
IHS asked for donations to help with this large-scale rescue, estimating they need at least $3,500 for medical expenses alone.
