Long-absent top star spotted with AEWs Miro amid rumors of his WWE contract expiration

Quite often, a Superstar causes stir while on hiatus, regardless of which promotion one is signed to. Walking in the same footsteps is Sheamus. After giving Adam Copeland, fka Edge, a WWE retirement match last August, The Celtic Warrior is nowhere to be found. But he recently attended Nashville SC‘s MLS game against the Columbus Crew.

Taking it to his Instagram account, the Fella posted a picture alongside his wife, Isabella Revilla, and AEW star, Miro. On one hand, Sheamus’ WWE status has been under wraps, and on the other, former Rusev recently made it to the limelight following mutual separation with Lana, aka CJ Perry. But what has subdued WWE fans is the perpetual absence of the former Brawling Brutes supremo.

Initially, he was sidelined to nurse a shoulder injury. However, almost 7 months have come and gone, but The Great White hasn’t returned to WWE programming. It’s all happening on the heels of his heavily speculated contract expiration with the Stamford-based promotion. Last October, it was reported that the Irish Superstar’s current deal was set to expire this summer.

However, it’s always possible that months of injury time will be added to his remaining commitments. Continuous ambiguity hasn’t helped, but it has sparked conversations about his potential WWE exit down the line.

The former League of Nations member has been highly critical of his booking encompassing the reigning Intercontinental Champion, Gunther. Despite multiple goes at The Ring General, Sheamus hasn’t been able to dethrone him. However, he came off bitter while discussing how WWE squandered his red-hot momentum while he was waging war against the Imperium leader.

Sheamus looks set to miss WWE’s biggest payday of WrestleMania

Until a while ago, Sheamus was relentlessly trolling Gunther on X, formerly Twitter. But he has now exited the social platform. While the exact reason for this is still unknown, WWE has reportedly updated the policy for its employees on X.

Recently, former WWE Superstar Matt Morgan said that he doesn’t believe there’s a spot for the former 3-time US Champion on this year’s WrestleMania card. The longer it takes for the Cabra-born wrestler to get back, the more it will widen the cracks, if any, between him and WWE.

Last year at WrestleMania, he was in a triple threat match for the IC title, including Gunther, the Champ, and Drew McIntyre. And by the looks of it, the former World Heavyweight Champion doesn’t appear on track to be involved in any capacity at the pop-culture extravaganza in Philadelphia.
