Federal investigators in Texas are searching for a suspect who robbed a bank with a small child.

The robbery happened just after 2 p.m. on June 6 at the First Convenience Bank branch located inside the Walmart on Anderson Boulevard in Fort Worth.

The FBI's Dallas Division said the robbery suspect had a small child in a shopping car when he handed the teller a note demanding cash. After he got the money, he took off while carrying the child.

Some shoppers told NBC DFW that the photo of the man exiting the store with the young child after he allegedly robbed the bank was disturbing.

"It just stunned me, I mean to think of that poor little baby, to be connected with something like that," said Forth Worth resident Shirley Ingram. "But she’s too young to really know what’s going on."

"He probably thought if anyone was going to shoot, he would think of that little girl in his arms, so I think he was kind of using her as a shield," Ingram added.

If you have any information about this suspect or investigation, call FBI Dallas at (972) 559-5000.
