At her Olympic debut in 2004, Allyson Felix was an 18-year-old prodigy. 5 Olympic Games and 17 years later, she is a mother and a track legend.

Felix, aka “Chicken Legs,” qualified for the women’s 400m final with a time of 49.89 seconds, which was her best time this season. Joining her on the track will be her American teammate, Quanera Hayes, who ran a time of 49.81 seconds.

The two mom Olympians are running “for all moms in the world,” says Hayes.

“Hopefully, a lot of mothers will see themselves in us,” Felix said. “I’ve heard from what seems like thousands of them — all the different situations and scenarios, all that they’ve been through. There’s a lot of similarities. I just want to be that representation.”

Felix and Hayes will compete in the 400 meter final this Friday on NBC.
